Gunstock Mountain Ski Resort

Gunstock, located in Gilford, New Hampshire is one of the state’s largest recreation areas. With great runs for long carving turns and impeccably groomed trails, Gunstock Mountain Resort separates itself from all others. The first ski area in New England to have a chairlift, and second in the country, Gunstock boasts 1400 feet of vertical, New Hampshire’s 3rd longest chairlift, over 220 acres of skiing, with 51 trails and 7 lifts, and spectacular views of Lake Winnipesaukee at every turn. It is also the host of major events such as the HillClimb during Laconia Bike week, CraftFest, Soulfest, and the TimberMan Triathlon.

Note: During early season Gunstock closes at 4:00 pm each evening until Night Skiing starts.

Directions:
From I-93 North – Take exit 20 in Tilton, NH. Turn left on Rte. 3N. Travel along Rte. 3N for about 10 minutes. Bear right onto the Laconia By-Pass (just past the Belknap Mall) which connects with Rte.11A in Gilford. Follow the brown signs to Gunstock Recreation Area.

From I-95 North – Follow I-95 until reaching the Portsmouth traffic circle. At the circle, exit Rte. 95 onto the Spaulding Turnpike. Follow highway signs for the Lakes Region which leads you to Rte.11, and then, in Alton, NH, to Rte.11A. Gunstock is 12 miles beyond Alton.

Note: If you are traveling from South or West of Boston, it may be best to travel north on I-95 or I-495 and then exit off onto I-93 north. This route is typically quicker than following I-95 to Portsmouth NH, although traffic conditions can vary.
